Ewok was one of
three kittens, her sister was called Wookie, her brother was Chewbacca.
They were born in the washing basket
after their mother, Mink, was removed from Bonnie's knee where she had decided to go into labour.
By the time
the Star Wars movie that the children were watching had finished, all three kittens had been born.
Three days
later Mink was killed on the road, that meant the kittens had to be handraised.
They adapted quickly to being bottle
fed and grew up fast. We decided to keep them all (as you do!)
Chewy was killed 6 months later when I accidently ran over him in the driveway and Wookie
was killed on the road just after we moved here 10 years ago.
I guess with that sort of family history, Ewok was
lucky to live to old age!
It's strange not to have her around any more...... 16 years is a long time to know a cat, it
tends to become a reliable 'constant' in your every day life. When that's gone there's an 'empty' bit that you can't
quite fill with anything else.
I said goodbye to the BokBok and we buried her next to her mate Eden. Two old
girls together again.
R.I.P Ewok.
